Climate of Bhutan

Bhutan has a very varied climate that varies greatly with elevation. The central valleys have a temperate climate with warm summers and cool winters while the high Himalayan regions in the north have an alpine climate with snow on the highest peaks all year round. The southern plains have hot, humid subtropical conditions. Bhutan also experiences ample amounts of rain which at some time may also impact on tourism experience. The northern Bhutan has a tundra climate which is also home to some of the most endangered and rare Himalayan species.
